Alh. Isa Muhammad Borodo Fniqs

Born on 5th July, 1947 at BUKURU, Mal. Isa Muhammad Borodo hails from Zango (Malufai) Quarters in Municipal Local Government of Kano State. He completed his Qur'anic School under Hafizi Aminu Ringim and later to Junior and Senior Primary Schools Bukuru and Riyorn (1958-1964) respectively. He then proceeded to College of St. Joseph, Vona, (1965-1969) and Government College, Keffi (1969-1970) where he obtained WASC and GCE certificates respectively. He was a great athlete and has these laurels to his credit during his school days: Victor Ludorum Award in 1970 for the Best Athlete in Government College Keffi; won the National Secondary School Long Jump Certificate in 1970; Gold Medal in Long Jump for ABU (NUGA) at UNN Nsukka in 1974; Silver Medal in Long Jump for Nigeria in the Vest African University Games at Kumasi, Ghana in 1973 and represented Nigeria in All-Africa Universities Games held at EL-WAK Stadium Accra, Ghana in 1974. He obtained his BSc (Quantity Surveying) in 1974 and has his NYSC in Lagos with Federal Ministry of Education, Building Unit 1975-1976. After his NYSC, he took up appointment with Association of Quantity Surveyors (A.Q.S) Consultants in charge of U.P.E programme nationwide, and thereafter he joined Kano State Civil Service from 1981-2007 where he rose to the position of Director of Planning and Statistics. He became corporate member of the NIQS, QSRBN, and Nigerian Environmental Society and (N.E.S) and finally he was elected Fellow Nigerian Institute Quantity Surveyors in 2015. During his` tenure in the Kano State Civil service, he has served in many committees among which are (1) Renovation of Primary Schools in the old Kano State, (2) Construction of Political Offices. He has also been Chairman of Kano Committees on (2) World Habitat Day for five consecutive years as well as for (2) Redefining & Re-invigorating the functions of Planning Research & Statistics Directorates in Kano State Civil Service. He has also been pioneer member for the NIQS Kano chapter and was awarded Commendation Shield as the most Outstanding Elder of the 2013. His humility, patience, honesty, thoroughness and articulation have made him a center of call for many who regard him as a father. He has attended many short courses and Conferences including ICT to enhance his professional skills and general performance. He presented several papers among which are applications of Due Process techniques in a Sharia'ah Compliant State like Kano. The climax of his civil service career was rewarded with the Best Director's Award in 2005 as well as a Certificate of Merit at the Code of Conduct Bureau in Kano State, He has since retired from Kano State Civil Service in 2007 and has been living and practicing in Kano City with the Project Planning & Cost Consultants as well as participating in local and Communal activities to foster peaceful co-existence in his community.
