Alhaji Bashir Borodo was born in Kano on 28th of November, 1948. He had his academic training, starting at Dandago Primary School, Kano. He proceeded to Victory College Maadi in Cairo, Egypt. He bagged his first degree in Economics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; he also got a master in Economics at Dalhousie University, Halijax Canada and also at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He also did a Post Graduate in French Language at University De Besancon Besanco, France. His working career sprang the length and breadth of public and private sectors amongst which include:- • Bank of the North Limited • Teaching assistant at Queen's University Canada • Ministry of External Affairs, Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, D.C. USA • Nigeria Sugar Products, Limited • Chairman, Tropical Commercial Bank Plc. • D. ANCC Limited (Fertilizer Company) • Borodo and Co. Nig. Ltd. • Chairman, NAL Merchant Bank Plc. • Director Sterling Bank Plc. Alhaji.Borodo was:- • President, Nigerian Economic Society, Kano Chapter • President, Mamymetwers Association of Nigeria • President, Egyptian Universities Alumni Association of Nigeria. He is the current President of Federation of West African Manufacturers. He is a winner of many awards amongst which include; Kano State Government Scholarship at Ahmadu Bello University (Post Graduate); Skelton-Clark Fellowship at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. He is board member of the Academy for Entrepreneur Studies, Nigeria. He is a holder of the Member of the Federal Republic (MFR) and the Order of the Federal Republic (OON) by the Federal Government of Nigerian. He is happily married to Dr. Umma Borodo (PhD) and blessed with 5 children and many grand children
